This app can be used to save a particular GPS location and help youreturn to it later. For example, if you park your car somewhere youhaven't been before and then set off on a long walk, you can take aGPS reading of your location before you set off so that you caneasily locate your car after your walk. The app is particularlyuseful when in remote locations with poor data connections as itcan display a simple bearing arrow indicating the direction anddistance to the location which only requires a GPS & compassreading. Includes a companion wear app that can display the mapand/or bearing on your watch.

A news feed reader that can be set up to notify you if particularkeywords appear in any news article. It also learns what type ofarticles you like from your feedback. Over time it builds up aprofile of your preferences and shows you articles it thinks youwill find interesting and hides the articles it thinks you willdislike. Uses RSS or ATOM feeds. It can also download and recommendpodcasts based on your reading habits.

ChronoProf is an Android app that provides timed profiles such asOutdoor, Quiet, Silent, etc. You can configure a profile and applyit for a particular period, i.e. set Outdoor profile for 2 hours.You can configure WiFi, Bluetooth, Autosync, ringtone, media andnotification volumes. It can also set profiles at particular daysand times, e.g. switch to Quiet every Tuesday morning at 9am, orswitch WiFi on every evening. Best WiFi provides a simplewidgetthat allows you to connect to the WiFi router with thestrongestsignal. This can be useful if you have multiple WiFirouters asyour device may take a long time to connect to the bestsignal byitself. The widget displays the name of the router yourdevice iscurrently connected to. Clicking the widget will cause ittobriefly display the networks within range, after which itwillconnect to the strongest source and then close automatically.It isalso possible to configure whether to only connect topreviouslysaved networks, or whether to connect to any opennetwork. You canalso configure whether saved networks should bepreferred overunknown open networks even if the signal from theknown network isweaker. The app can also scan for the strongestsignal in thebackground periodically, e.g. every 15 minutes(disabled by defaultbut can be enabled from settings).
